Electrical and Electronics Engineering

About

EEEThe splendid Electrical and Electronics Engineering block situated on the south west houses the spotlessly designed labs, class rooms, staff rooms, girls’ rest rooms and a spacious drawing hall. In the 3rd floor of the block, the mineral warer plant is accommodated from which quality drinking water is being supplied for the entire campus. The details of the labs in this block are as follows.

ELECTRICAL MACHINES LAB
This is one of the well equipped laboratories in the EEE Department. The laboratory is controlled by separate AC and DC panel boards, switches and circuit breakers to maintain safety. A separate DC rectifier unit is available for feeding all the DC machines. This lab is designed to do both AC and DC machines experiments under one roof. All types of DC machines such as shunt, series compound are available both in the form of motors and generators.
Various types AC machines such as motor generator sets (alternator), induction motors, synchronous motors and various types of transformers like single phase, three phase and auto transformers are also available.

MEASUREMENTS CONTROL & INSTRUMENTATION LAB
Measurments control & Instrumentation Laboratory provides best support for any electrical utility. The modern measurements are carried out both in analog and digital forms. The modern bridges such as Wheatstone, Maxwell’s Anderson and Schering bridges are available to measure electrical parameters like resistance, inductane and capacitance. We have provisions forCalibrating energy meters. Modern forms of instrumentation and control equipment such as digital multi meters. Thermistor and LVDTs etc., are also available.

ELECTRIC CIRCUITS LAB
In the Electric Circuits lab, we have various types of filters, both active and passive filters, Resonance circuit, two port network kits to analyse the performance of any electric circuit. We have Digital storage Oscilloscope to record and analyse the responses of the circuits.

POWER SYSTEM SIMULATION LAB
This lab is well equipped with latest IBM PCs and servers with the minimum configuration of P4, 256MB RAM, 15″ color monitor etc.. We have thirty systems in total. We have all the required software like AU power lab software module. Mat lab, PSPICE, PSCAD, turbo C++ etc. we also have uninterrupted power supply (2×5 KVA) for one hour backup so that students can work even during power cuts.

POWER ELECTRONICS LAB
This lab consists of all kinds of power electronics trainer kits. Students can design, fabricte and test all types of power electronic circuits. This lab is equipped with sufficient number of equipment likeCRO, function Generator, Storage oscilloscope. Multimeter etc.

ELECTRICAL WIRING LAB
This lab consists of all kinds of electrical Accessories to practise house wiring such as stair case wiring, single phase & three phase house wiring. The student can learn about working and assembling of the fan, iron box and other appliances.
